In 2009, I was given a tour of a warehouse that belongs to a major supplier of all kinds of flagpoles that does business in the western area of the United States. This supplier has been in business for decades and has served its clients diligently and proudly. The tour that was given to me was involving and very fascinating, to only say the very least.
After the end of the tour, I sat down with a warehouse employee and (out of curiosity) asked him if there were any special flag poles for sale. His answer was that they had various flagpoles with minor scratches and dents with solid discounts that were put up as flag poles for sale in their showroom as well as the Internet.

Sometimes a product might receive a dent or scratch as a result of the manufacturing process or because of "issues" during the handling and shipping process. Obviously, no one initially prefers dents or scratches on their purchased product, but discounts are usually applied to these product types. Scratches and dents are sometimes found on new flagpoles as well. Those seeking new poles often become interested in these "damaged" poles as they are often great flag poles for sale.
Fascinatingly, these minor damages or inconsistencies are usually not visible to the eye from 1 yard away or so. A flagpole finish, such as the "clear finish," will do a good job at hiding these damages. Flagpoles with dents and scratches make for a cost-effective alternative to damage free flagpoles.
When you ask around for the available "used poles," you will quickly learn that most of these flagpoles for sale are made out of aluminum. Aluminum is a metal type that has been used as a construction material for poles for a few decades. Poles made out of aluminum are light yet strong and usually come in a whole range of different finishes. Flagpole finishes also help fade away the inconsistencies thus making these types of flagpoles great flag poles for sale.
Aluminum has an interesting history to it. This metal type was not used as a construction material till the end of the 19th century. About two hundred years plus ago, it was applied for parts of the Washington Monument, back in 1884.
Do not hesitate to ask your supplier for more information and consultation on possible damaged or used flagpoles that they might have in stock, as they make real flag poles for sale!
